Kiva – Your chance to change someone’s life

by Jirrine

I know that I am very blessed with my life: I have had the opportunity to go school and to University. I have a loving family and great friends. I have more than enough to eat and awesome place I get to call home. Unfortunately all of these things are not guaranteed for everybody. You only have to turn on the news or open a newspaper and you’ll be confronted with the millions, if not billions of people that are lacking basic facilities or are living in war zones. I realize that by myself I cannot change the world overnight. There are however so many things that you can do to give someone else a better chance at life!

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks Summer Shades – $24 (

I might not be the biggest fan of summer, I do very much like bright summer colors on my lips! I have never tried this but for the colors alone I would buy these! Look at the gorgeous middle color called Bella or the most right color Amalfi. Amalfi, le sigh! The perfect name for something summery. The golden caps give them a really chick look. Definitely something I would like to carry around in my purse. The other three in the summer range are called Rosa, Como and Venezia. I think I hear Italy calling. It wants me to come over and wear these beautiful shades while wandering the streets of Sienna…

Youtube Recommends: Music

by Mary-Sue

The amount of time I spend watching Youtube videos is clinically concerning. I am subscribed to at least 30 different content creators whose video’s I loyally watch each week.

Over the years I have stumbled upon so many awesome, touching and funny films that I wanted to start a new segment on this blog called “Youtube Recommends” where I will share some of my favorite clips. Today’s topic is “Music” and I have four different videos that made my eyes water.

Pinterest is one of my favorite internet places to aimlessly browse. It has tons of great inspiration but most of all it has billions of awesome recipes! I wish I could make all the yummy things I find on there but unfortunately I have neither enough days in my life nor the right equipment (as I currently live temporarily with my parents and have no own kitchen!). I, however, do not want to withhold all of Pinterest’s yummyness so I’ll be sharing some inspiration for a weekmenu! You can click the pictures to go the individual recipes.

From darkness into the light

This is a message for all of you out there who are feeling a little bit blue and want to do something about it. That last part is very important; you crave a change in life and want to make an effort to do so. The quite simple solution takes hard work: change your thoughts.

“All that we are, is the result of what we have thought.” – Buddha

If you believe you are a worthless person, how will you feel? Sad, hopeless, downhearted? If you feel bad, how will you behave? Timid, reticent, insecure? How will the outer world react to you when you bury your personality and only show a blank face? Probably standoffish. In return you will take this as a confirmation of the aforementioned thoughts of being worthless.

The Psychology of the Hater – My Thoughts*

mary-sue, jemssparkles, beach, sand, haters gonna hate, psychology101, psychology of the haterby Mary-Sue

There is so much hate going around on the Internet. The combination of anonymity and the lack of a direct emotional reaction to comments reinforces the ease with which we judge. Haters are never that direct in person for their actions on the Internet do not have the same consequences as in real life.

I’ve been wanting to make this blog post for the longest time to shed some light on the hater’s perspective. I hope this makes you (the reader) understand them better, and know that their comments have little to do with you, but are reflections of their life.

Games: Assassin’s Creed Syndicate Tour

assassins's creed

by Jirrine

I am really against gender prejudices. One of the biggest prejudices I am trying to go against is that girls can’t be gamers. I totally disagree! I have been a gamer for as long as I can remember: I have vivid memories of holidays spent with my Gameboy Color while solely playing Pokémon Gold and Super Mario Bros. When I got older I discovered the magic of the x-box. Luckily I have a gamer boyfriend and with him came an enormous collection of games. Of course I love him without all the games but I cannot deny they are an appreciated bonus! One of my favorite franchises on the Xbox 360 is Assassin’s Creed. The first game in the series was released in 2007 and every subsequent year a new game was added. This coming fall the 9th game Assassins’s Creed Syndicate will make its appearance. I am really excited!!
