Growing up I was never allowed to have a pet. I never really minded: I did not like the hassle of walking a dog and I did not like cats at all. Then I met my current boyfriend. He came with a companion that I just needed to accept as they were inseparable. His name: Noodles. His species: cat. Noodles and I were not really ready to share. He had enjoyed all the attention for so long and now there was this human invading his space. I did not particularly like Noodles: he always tried to nip my heels when I walked by and he had the tendency to scratch me and then pretend nothing happened. Both of us could not have foreseen that things would ever change. That we would actually like each other.

A Stroll Through The Park

It is October, meaning for all you studying folks out there that we’re already one month in! One month has come and gone. I’ve had my first exam and stresses of making assignments and acing tests are piling up. Slowly, the excitement of starting a new year of my studies is beginning to fade.
This weekend I wanted to have a break from my routine of studying all day, every day and do something completely different. It’s not extraordinary in the sense that I went skydiving, but I wanted to get out of the house and out of the city.

I might not be the biggest fan of summer, I do very much like bright summer colors on my lips! I have never tried this but for the colors alone I would buy these! Look at the gorgeous middle color called Bella or the most right color Amalfi. Amalfi, le sigh! The perfect name for something summery. The golden caps give them a really chick look. Definitely something I would like to carry around in my purse. The other three in the summer range are called Rosa, Como and Venezia. I think I hear Italy calling. It wants me to come over and wear these beautiful shades while wandering the streets of Sienna…
You Can Choose Your Thoughts

This is a message for all of you out there who are feeling a little bit blue and want to do something about it. That last part is very important; you crave a change in life and want to make an effort to do so. The quite simple solution takes hard work: change your thoughts.

If you believe you are a worthless person, how will you feel? Sad, hopeless, downhearted? If you feel bad, how will you behave? Timid, reticent, insecure? How will the outer world react to you when you bury your personality and only show a blank face? Probably standoffish. In return you will take this as a confirmation of the aforementioned thoughts of being worthless.

This next quote is The Netherlands in a nutshell: “Summer in Holland: it’s the best day of the year.” We don’t have a lot of days when it’s hot enough to wear short shorts. (Yay for no shaving, meh for reflecting-sunlight-white legs.) My next outfit is suitable for those lower summer temperatures.

It’s not an ordinary day if you catch me in high heels. Either I’m on my way to a fancy party or a blogpost requires me to put more effort into my outfit. The later one was obviously the case here. Let’s just say it’s a good thing we’re not on youtube yet because I’m like Bambi in these shoes, even though they’re wedges. You can literally see my kneecaps and adjoined muscles holding me together. There’s a fitting Dutch phrase for such occasions and goes a bit like this “those who want to be pretty, have to deal with the suffering.”

I love cute phone cases and this one is definitely a cutie! I am not generally one for pink but this is a very sophisticated pink. It will be very easy to locate your phone in the endless pits of your bag because it is in your face bright + I’ll take all the summer color I can get. Kate Spade has a ton of other cute cases for iPhone and iPad if this is not really your style.
